Psychoeducation

We cannot change what we do not know. Building awareness and education around sleep, well-being and performance is the first step to improving.

Why do we sleep?

Change without awareness is haphazard. Change with awareness is managed. Hence building awareness and education around sleep, well-being and performance is the first step to identifying and then implementing areas for improvement.

Sleep is a complex process that allows our brains to recover from the active day. Every time we go to sleep we exhibit a recurring ‘ultradian’ cycle of around 90-120 minutes that consists of non-REM* and REM* sleep. We need sleep to be able to maintain our health, as well as skills such as memory, alertness, speech and performance.

Group presentations / workshops will cover the basics of sleep and circadian rhythms and the impact on workplace productivity and performance. Individuals will have the opportunity to discuss, engage and explore their own experiences. These sessions are tailored to the specific group in mind e.g. athletes / sports practitioners, professionals / business leaders, children / teachers.
